Superman is the brainchild of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster who first envisioned the character in 1932 and later had his first appearance in Action Comics #1 in June 1938. What Jerry and Joe did not know at the time was that they had created a character that would become the signature icon of DC Comics and the most universally recognized hero in human history.

Since 1938, the character of Superman/Clark Kent has appeared in every imaginable media form including television, film, novelizations, and even a Broadway show.

Being Superman is the childhood fantasy of every little boy and girl (they of course want to be Supergirl). He is an enduring emblem of the American dream, the young immigrant who comes to the United States, embraces the culture and makes something of himself and enriches his adopted nation. He is a classical hero in the modern age who fights criminals, rescues the helpless and has a sense of morals and justice as strong and unshakeable as he is.

Since 1998, the Superman Super Site's mission statement has been to bring you all the latest news, updates, and information pertaining to the Man of Steel and the Superman universe in general.

Today, DC revealed the lineup for six graphic novels (and one box set) to publish in Fall 2025, with more to be announced in the coming months! Following the success of the Fathom Events preview screenings this week and the film now being Certified Fresh at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, Warner Bros. Pictures is pleased to announce that Ian Bonhóte and Peter Ettedgui's moving documentary "Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story," which DC Studios, HBO Documentary Films and CNN Films acquired out of the Sundance Film Festival this year, will be expanding wide in theaters across North America on October 11, 2024.

Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts has been cast in the role of a yet-to-be-named villain in "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" opposite actress Milly Alcock ("House of the Dragon") who will star in the title role of the DC Studios film.

Schoenaerts is best known for his roles as Filip in "Loft" (2008), Jacky Vanmarsenille in the Oscar-nominated "Bullhead" (2011), Ali in the BAFTA and Golden Globe-nominee "Rust and Bone" (2012), for which he won the César Award for Most Promising Actor, Eric Deeds in "The Drop" (2014), Bruno von Falk in "Suite Francaise" (2015), Gabriel Oak in "Far from the Madding Crowd" (2015), Hans Axgil in "The Danish Girl" (2015) and Uncle Vanya in "Red Sparrow" (2018). He also received critical acclaim for his portrayal of an ex-soldier suffering from PTSD in "Disorder" (2015), and for his performance as an inmate training a wild horse in "The Mustang" (2019).

"Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" will be directed by Craig Gillespie ("Fright Night", "Cruella", "Dumb Money") and will be based on a script by actress and playwright Ana Nogueira who was also recently tapped to write the script for a live-action "Teen Titans" film.

In early 2023, director James Gunn spoke to reporters about the film stating, "We will see the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl, raised on a rock, a chip off of Krypton, and who watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life and then come to Earth."

"Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" is scheduled to release June 26, 2026.

The Grand Cinema in Tacoma, WA will present a special screening of "Superman: The Movie" on Monday, November 4th at 7:00PM (PT) as part of their "Science on Screen" series.

One of the most well-regarded superhero films of all time, Superman was a box-office smash when it rocketed to Earth in 1978. The last son of the dead planet Krypton, Kal-El (Christopher Reeve) is found as a baby by Jonathan (Glenn Ford) and Martha Kent (Phyllis Thaxter) when his spaceship crashes just outside of Smallville, USA. Given the name "Clark" by his adopted parents, the boy grows up strong in the American heartland, developing amazing powers under the light of the yellow sun. One day, Clark finds a glowing crystal, and with it finds out about his alien heritage, the knowledge imparted to him by his birth father, Jor-El (Marlon Brando). The boy becomes a man, and moves to Metropolis to work for the Daily Planet newspaper, finding love in Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) and danger in the form of criminal genius Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman).

The screening will be preceded by a discussion from Professor Muhammad Aurangzeb Ahmad (PHD) who, much like Jor-El in the film, created an artificial intelligence (AI) simulation of his late father called "Grandpa Bot" to give his young children the experience of knowing their grandfather.

The CW has released a new trailer for the fourth and final season of "Superman & Lois" which features new footage of the aftermath from Superman's battle with Doomsday in which the Man of Steel is dead and the monstrous killing machine created by Lex Luthor still very much alive.

Season four of "Superman & Lois" picks up right where last season left off: with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and Luthor's monster locked in a ferocious, moon-wrecking battle, as Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) fights for his life against the seemingly unstoppable creature. Back on the ground, General Lane (guest star Dylan Walsh) struggles to stay alive after being kidnapped by Luthor's henchmen, while Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch), Jordan (Alex Garfin), and Jonathan (Michael Bishop) race against time to rescue him. But standing in their way is Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz) himself, who has permanently moved to Smallville as the next step in his malicious plan to destroy Lois Lane. Meanwhile, Lana Lang (guest star Emanuelle Chriqui) uses her position as Mayor to fight back against Luthor's schemes, a move which puts her in the sights of the most dangerous man in the world and threatens everything she holds dear. The United States Mint has revealed a set of candidate designs for their upcoming series of Superman coins and medals which are the first in a new series celebrating comic book art as a uniquely American artform, featuring DC comic book characters and art.

The new series will feature nine iconic superheroes depicted on 24-karat gold coins, .999 fine silver medals, and non-precious metal (clad) medals. Debuting in summer 2025 with Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, the three-year series will include six additional DC characters - three each in 2026 and 2027.

Once the candidate designs are finalized, all obverses (heads side) of the coins and medals for this program will be designed and sculpted by United States Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna. Each of the reverses (tails side) will be designed by one of the Mint's Medallic Artists under Menna's art direction.
